Starting at 10:30 there’s coffee, a good time to meet everyone. Feel free to work on projects, chat with each other, get feedback.

From 3:30pm there’re presentations & it’s possible to present your project. If you have something you’d like to show, mention it in the comments :-)

This Vierde vrijdag takes place at The Hague Tech, the tech hub just behind The Hague Central Station. It’s possible to lunch here for only 5 EUR, +- 1pm.

Presentaties en discussies over technologie en cultuur
Dit jaar bekijk je bij Border Sessions, het jaarlijkse Haagse technologie en cultuur festival, maar liefst negen presentaties en discussies van toonaangevende denkers. Zo hoor je in Women, Whistleblowing, Wikileaks van o.a. Britse journalist en voormalig Wikileaks redacteur Sarah Harrison over de rol van vrouwen bij Wikileaks, vertelt ontwerper Andrew Bullen over het inclusieve project van de European Street Design Challenge en licht New Media professor Vladan Joler toe hoe je met kaarten de onzichtbare lagen van de technologische krachten binnen onze maatschappij ontdekt en krijg je de kans om samen met Jeroen Boon van Kiemkracht je eigen Coöperatieve Community op te zetten.

Border Sessions is a yearly tech culture festival on a mission to kick-start and fuel challenging ideas, experiments, and multidisciplinary projects.

HACK THE PLANET
host the Hack the Planet Hackathon. During the “Hack the Planet” Hackathon creative minds will gather to collaborate with the organizations that aim to improve the world. Work in small teams to tackle some of the most pressing challenges they face and work on the problem that you are most eager to solve. The goal is to come to a solution that will actually be implemented right after the hackathon!

Park(ing) Day Den Haag

Tijdens Park(ing) Day in Den Haag worden op vrijdag 15 september van 12:00 – 19:00 uur veertig parkeerplekken langs twee routes door het centrum omgetoverd tot parkjes. Route 1 loopt vanaf stations Hollands Spoor via de Stationsweg en Wagenstraat naar het winkelhart van Den Haag. Route 2 loopt door het Hofkwartier, vanuit de Prinsestraat, langs de Paleistuin en de Koninklijke stallen via het Noordeinde naar het Koninklijke Paleis.

Om 12:00 uur zal Joris Wijsmuller ter hoogte van Stationsweg nr.17 het eerste Park(ing) Day in Den Haag openen. Welkom!

Over Parking Day Den Haag
Park(ing) Day is een internationaal fenomeen, een jaarlijks terugkerende interventie waarbij wereldwijd bewoners, initiatieven, creatieven, ontwerpers en kunstenaars, voor één dag parkeerplekken ombouwen tot kleine publieke parken. Het idee is gestart in San Francisco en is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een beweging in meer dan 160 steden in 20 landen. Ieder jaar op de derde vrijdag in september vestigen mensen wereldwijd aandacht op het belang van een duurzame leefomgeving met deze kleinschalige ludieke acties. Dit jaar gaan we voor 40(!) parkeerplekken langs twee strategische routes in het centrum van Den Haag.

Ontmoeten
Waar heb je de meeste kans om nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten? Op straat natuurlijk! Helaas zijn onze straten daar nu niet goed voor ingericht. Dat moet toch anders kunnen?

Je hoeft niet altijd te wachten tot de ander (de gemeente) iets doet, zelf kun je ook zorgen voor verandering.

Ruimte voor experiment
Stel je voor dat 1 op de 10 parkeerplekken een nieuwe functie krijgt. Hoe zou de straat er dan uitzien? En hoe gaan de mensen zich dan gedragen? Door het experiment aan te gaan maakt Park(ing) Day op vrolijke wijze belangrijke thema’s bespreekbaar. Van wie is de straat eigenlijk?

Meer Groen
Een groene oase voor je deur waar je koffie drinkt en een kletspraatje maakt met de buren zonder dat je je huis hoeft op te ruimen…ideaal toch. Park(ing) Day is een proeftuin om te ervaren wat meer groen in de straat teweeg brengt op sociaal niveau. Meer groen is een belangrijke stap op weg naar een beter leefklimaat.

Parking Day Den Haag Workshop: Duurzaam Leven

Wanneer in mei de zon aan kracht wint, zie je overal de ramen en deuren weer opengaan. Het ideale moment om de straat op te gaan en van jouw straat een Stralende Straat te maken! Tijdens Park[ing] Day, willen we de stad omtoveren tot een groene oase, een plek voor ontmoeting, om te relaxen, te spelen of misschien wel te ondernemen!

Daarom zijn wij op zoek naar park ontwerpers en vrijdenkers! Verspreid door de stad worden er een aantal workshops georganiseerd. Om samen met jou, als bewoner of ondernemer, te brainstormen over de perfecte duurzame invulling van één parkeerplek in jouw straat, een Spark. Een in de zomer omgetoverde parkeerplaats als kleine proeftuin van wat je ook kunt doen in een straat, behalve parkeren.

Voor vrijdag 14 juli is het thema van de Parking Day workshop: Duurzaam Leven. Met meer groen, een duurzame en bewuste leefomgeving kunnen we de stedelijke leefomgeving drastisch verbeteren. Samen steken we de koppen bij elkaar voor een fijne activatie sessie!

One project at #vierdevrijdag is programming a smart contract on the NXT blockchain.

Also, there’s an idea to create a simple site for bringing nice venues and people that want to program nice meetups in The Hague together. “Open source programming”. Venues list their locations on the site. People mention what topics/themes they would like to see in a meetup. These will be matched. It could be nice to think about a prototype.

Naar het voorbeeld van het meest democratische bedrijf ter wereld, Semco, is Edgar samen met oa statushouders SemCos aan het opzetten.
SemCos is een maatschappelijk betrokken projectontwikkelaar op coöperatieve grondslag. Naar het voorbeeld van het meest democratische bedrijf ter wereld, Semco, zetten we projecten op waar binnen en/of vanuit (nieuwe) Nederlanders verzekerd kunnen Leren, Werken en/of Ondernemen en zo een zelfstandig bestaan op kunnen bouwen.

Janine is working on Parking Day The Hague. The idea is to create awesome ‘sparks’ (transformed ex parking spots that make the city a more beautiful place). Are you creative, an artist, do you know how about this concept big in The Hague? Come by!
